First what is Forex: The FOREX or Foreign Exchange market is the largest financial market in the world, with an volume of more than $1.5 trillion daily, dealing in currencies. Unlike other financial markets, the Forex market has no physical location, no central exchange. It operates through an electronic network of banks, corporations and individuals trading one currency for another.
The Forex, or foreign currency exchange, is all about money. Money from all over the world is bought, sold and traded. On the Forex, anyone can buy and sell currency and with possibly come out ahead in the end. When dealing with the foreign currency exchange, it is possible to buy the currency of one country, sell it and make a profit. For example, a broker might buy a Japanese yen when the yen to dollar ratio increases, then sell the yens and buy back American dollars for a profit.
When learning to read forex charts, remember that there are two basic approaches for online forex trading. They are fundamental analysis and technical analysis. Fundamental analysis doesn't rely on forex charts. It uses both political and economic factors to help determine trades. Charts here are only used as a reference. Technical analysis on the other hand will try to predict where the prices are going by analysis of historical price activity. Those who use technical analysis study the relationship between price and time.
The most traded pair of currencies is the Euro and the US dollar, so we will use them in our example. The dollar is on the right hand side of the chart and the Euro is on the left hand side. The currencies are expressed in relationship to each other in pairing. Forex charges will always display how much of the currency on the right hand side is necessary to buy a unit of the currency on the left hand side. Looking at the chart you will notice the last price displayed on a given date. This number is always highlighted. The time is recorded horizontally across the bottom of a chart and the price scale is displayed vertically along the right hand edge of the chart. The time and the price are often in all caps to help the trader remember that technical analysis is about the relationship between time and price. That is a fundamental rule of this type of relationship.
There are many ways to observe the price and time movement on a chart. These include bars, lines, point and figure, and Japanese candle sticks, the most popular method. With the candlestick method there is a fat, red section that is the body of the candlestick. Lines protrude from the top and bottom and they are the upper and lower wicks. When you look at al the candles on a chart it is clear that bodies can be difference sizes and sometimes there is no body at all. The same is true with wicks. Candle wicks can be of many difference sizes, or there may be no wick at all. The length of the body and the length of the wick are determined by the price range for the candle. Longer candles will have had more price movement during the time that they were open. The top of a candle wick is the highest price for that currency while the wick's bottom is the lowest price. A candle or currency is bullish when the close of the candle is higher than the open. In English this means that there were more buyers than there were sales during the opening time period. Sometimes the candles will not have wicks. The price opened and it dropped off until it closed.
Often the charts are online rather than on paper. By joining a service that provides the charts via the internet a trader is able to stay very current indeed on currency activity. Charts can be checked on a minute to minute basis. For those who primarily do their trading based on historical accuracy this can be a true help. Most forex traders however use a combination of the two approaches. They may chart historical trends, but they will also pay close attention to political, cultural and economic events within a nation. They may also use charts or other methods to check and see if a particular political event as a recent historical parallel that can be checked to determine how the currency behaved in past times. Simply following a system usually is not enough. A trader should also be, somewhat at least, a student of history and of economics. Using all the tools at your disposal will make you a better and stronger forex trader.
Forex charts are not a sure fire method, but they are a tool that can help a trader. Many forex traders use charts on a regular basis. Historical trends do have their place in forex trading as most traders will admit, and using the charts to track historical trends can assist a trader in making a decision today.
Always remember to keep the forecasting/charting/predicting to the experts unless you are doing this as a hobby and don't have much money invested....or as God is my witness you will learn the hard way...

Forex broker involvement optional
To trade on the forex market, the largest financial market on the planet, one must use a forex broker. Not unlike a stock broker, a forex broker can also makes suggestions about which moves to make when exchanging foreign currency. Some forex brokers even supply technical analysis to some of their clients and offer tips on research to improve their success as forex traders.
Typically in the forex market a forex broker is a banking institution who may buy up large amounts of a certain currency. For years, banks were the only ones who had access to the forex markets. But today with the Internet, any forex trader, who subscribes with a forex broker, can access the market 24 hours a day.
Today, as with stock brokers, the brick and mortar institutions, such as banks, are less of an option for the individual forex trader who works from home, monitoring the news and gaining insight into certain technical information to help with his or her trading decisions.
Choosing a forex broker may depend on your needs. If you are new to the field, there are houses, or online forex brokers who may cater to your needs, providing in-depth research, ample time to demo their product and so on. Other forex brokers are geared toward the experienced online forex trader. They too offer advice, but may be less likely to offer instructional help with the information, assuming that you may already know how it may or may not benefit you when you read it. It is advisable to read about and even run a demo on several different online forex brokers before going with one.

Day Trading Forex- 4 Reasons For A Stock And Shares Trader To Migrate Over To Day Trading Forex
Sunday, August 8, 2010
If I am day trading the stock and futures market, why would I want to move into day trading the forex as another additional trading avenue? Are there any special features of day trading the forex market that appear more appealing to stock traders to attract them to trade the forex as well?
In the pursuit of prosperity, we are always looking for ways to create personal wealth, and day trading forex offers much more opportunities to create wealth than say trading stocks and shares and commodities. Why is this so?
Forex Markets open 24/7
The stock markets and the commodity markets have set times that they are open for trading. In contrast, the forex markets are open 24hours a day, seven days in the week, giving much more trading opportunities to the day trader to trade. At the same time, convenience is a key factor, as anyone can trade at any convenient time with a web based trading platform provided free by his forex broker.
Higher Liquidity
The day trader is always conscious of liquidity. It is liquidity that allows a day trader to move smoothly into a day trade instantaneously at the best identified price without lag which will lead to a poor executed price. When he wants to buy, the day forex trader is able to get into that trade almost instantaneously due to the higher liquidity in the forex market and when a day trader wants to sell, he can get out of the currency at his price without delay. Where the difference in a fraction of a cent is important, this characteristic of very high liquidity makes forex trading very attractive. More so, it has been proven that there are trading systems that allow day traders to trade for only an hour or two, freeing them to do whatever they like for the rest of the day after pocketing profits. These are day traders who professionally trade for a living.
Lower Trading Costs
Forex trading seems like a dream to many day traders because there are no exchange fees, no commissions paid to brokers, and low transaction fees. In contrast, the day traders in stocks and shares and futures market all incur fees and commissions paid to licensed dealers and brokers, all of which will result in less profits.
Ability To Earn From Referrals
The active day trader can enter into arrangements with some forex brokers to earn a referral commission from the trades of people he introduces to the forex broker. Now while this is another separate activity, it cannot be denied that this is an added advantage for a day trader to earn something extra from his efforts in introducing or recommending friends to trade as well.
All these features make day trading the forex an attractive and possible replacement income source for those who work from home trading for a living

How Does Forex News Trading Work?
The Forex market is quickly becoming one of the most popular investment vehicles because of its huge volume and liquidity. However, it is also one of the most volatile investment vehicles because of its sudden price fluctuations and the fact that most of the market is heavily leveraged. For these reasons, fortunes can be made or lost in short order making the need for a reliable investment system very urgent indeed. While many Forex investors rely upon charts that track price movements and other forms of technical analysis to help determine entry and exit points, there are some investors who like enter and exit positions based upon news releases.
In theory, the smaller Forex retail traders should have a slight advantage when it comes to capitalizing on how the news affects the markets. With immediate Internet access and a never ending stream of brokers willing to execute trades at any hour of the day, small investors should be able to buy or sell a position quicker than some large conglomerate, mutual fund, or hedge fund. The market can literally adjust in minutes to relevant news releases so investors who move quickest will be able to capitalize—in theory.
Of course, it does boil down to knowing what news is relevant and then to determine how that will affect the currency exchange rates. Even news from countries other than those in your currency pair can play a significant role in short term price corrections. For those wishing to trade in the Forex based upon news releases, there are 8 major currencies currently playing significant roles in the market, including:
1. U.S. Dollar(USD)
2. Euro(EUR)
3. British Pound(GBP)
4. Japanese Yen(JPY)
5. Canadian Dollar (CAN)
6. Australian Dollar(AUD)
7. Swiss Franc(CHF)
8. New Zealand Dollar(NZD)
Because the USD is a backer in nearly 90% of all transactions on the Forex, the release of key economic indicators from the U.S. are always important to the currency exchange rates. These data are released at regular intervals which supposedly levels the playing field between the large and small investors. In theory, they should be able to capitalize upon short term price fluctuations caused by the release of these key indicators:
1. Interest Rate Decisions by Central Banks/Financial Policy Makers
2. GDP rates
3. Balance of trade
4. Unemployment data
5. Inflation
6. Retail sales/manufacturing output
7. Business Confidence as determined by Outlook Surveys
8. Consumer Confidence Surveys
9. Manufacturing Confidence as determined by Outlook surveys
Trading on the Forex based upon news releases means capitalizing upon short term fluctuations in the market as it corrects itself. Because these corrections can happen in a matter of minutes, it is vital for this type of investor to capitalize quickly or risk jumping after the market has already adjusted for the new information. While this is theoretically possible, it is very possible that the big investors had access to the information prior to its release. If these investors have already shifted their investments accordingly, then the market will have already corrected for the news before it was released—at least partially. If that is the case, then the small investor will jump in too late and likely face a loss.
Indeed, trading upon news releases is very dangerous because it also encourages over trading—a factor known to lead to losses—especially on the Forex. This is why most Forex investors rely upon technical analysis and their trusty charts when making decisions about entry and exit points on the market!

Forex News Trader - How To Trade Forex Using News And Economic Releases
While many forex traders are technical traders and institute their trades based on technical indicators from a price chart, there are some traders who are basically pure forex news traders.
What is actually forex news trading?
The forex news trader is basically a forex trader who makes his decisions to trade based on news and reports that are released daily. He does not depend on any technical indicators at all.
Why is news trading possible?
The forex market is a 24 hours market, and there are 8 major currency pairs available for trading with well over 17 derivatives, therefore allowing the economic news releases almost daily from any one or more of these currency pairs to impact on their movements.
What are these 8 major currencies that forex traders often watch for economic news releases that impact on their value?
The eight major tradeable currencies are
1. U.S. dollar (USD)
2. British pound (GBP)
3. Euro (EUR)
4. Japanese yen (JPY)
5. Australian dollar (AUD)
6. Swiss franc (CHF)
7. Canadian dollar (CAD)
8. New Zealand dollar (NZD)
The availability of these currency pairs and their derivatives such as the USD/JPN, Euro/USD, AUD/USD and several others means that you can trade some currency or its derivative pair at any time as these currencies span the globe!
So for the forex trader who trades on the news, he will have his eyes and ears set on the release of economic news and data that affect currency values.
Generally, we will watch out for news regarding the interest rates or direction of interest rate such as the FOMC rate decisions, release of retail sales figures, indications of inflation which can be gauged from consumer price index or the producer price index, unemployment figures, news on industrial production, news that indicate a boost in business such as business sentiment surveys and consumer confidence surveys, manufacturing sector surveys and news on the country's trade balance(such as foreign purchases of US Treasuries).
Different new releases impact upon currencies, and often lead to breakouts in volatility.
The key to trading on news is to take advantage of these movements in volatility which can last a few minutes or hours, and even days into the future.
Trading purely on news release is harder than it seems, but the task is made easier and more profitable with the use of indicators, such as a breakout indicator as a bollinger band or a breakout of a candlestick or a price bar. Statistics have shown news release can trigger movements that range in size from 33 to 124 pips, leading to trading opportunities.
By studying into high probability trade setups that has occurred consistently with the release of historical economic data, the forex news trader can devise strategies that can allow him to extract fast profits from volatile movements arising from news releases. The potential gains can be massive where the forex news trader can react quickly.

Forex Trading – System: Discretionary vs. Mechanical Systems
There are basically two types of Forex trading systems
, mechanical and discretionary systems. The trading signals that come out of mechanical systems are mainly based off technical analysis applied in a systematic way. On the other hand, discretionary systems use experience, intuition or judgment on entries and exits. But which one produces better results? Or more importantly, which one fits better your trading style? These are the answers we will try to answer on this article. We will first analyze the pros and cons about each system approach. Mechanical systems Advantages This kind of system can be automated and backtested efficiently. It has very rigid rules. Either, there is a trade or there isn’t. Mechanical traders are less susceptible to emotions than discretionary traders. Disadvantages Most traders backtest Forex trading systems incorrectly. In order to produce accurate results you need tick data. The Forex market is always changing. The Forex market (and all markets) has a random component. The market conditions may look similar, but they are never the same. A system that worked successfully the past year doesn’t necessary mean it will work this year. Discretionary systems Advantages Discretionary systems are easily adaptable to new market conditions. Trading decisions are based on experience. Traders learn to see which trading signals have higher probability of success. Disadvantages They cannot be backtested or automated, since there is always a thought decision to be made. It takes time to develop the experience required to trade successfully and track trades in a discretionary way. At early stages this can be dangerous. Now, which approach is better for Forex traders? The one that fits better your personality. For instance, if you are a trader that finds it hard to follow your trading signals, then you are better off using a mechanical system, where your judgment won’t play an important role in your system. You only take the trades that your system signals. If the psychological barriers that affect every trader (fear, greed, anger, etc.) puts you in unwanted scenarios, you are also better off trading mechanical systems, because you only need to follow what your system is telling you, go short, go long, close a trade. No other decision has to be made. On the other hand, if you are a disciplined trader, then you are better off using a discretionary system, because discretionary systems adapt to the market conditions and you are able to change your trading conditions as the market changes. For instance, you have a target of 60 pips on a long trade. But the market suddenly starts trending up pretty strongly, then you could move your target to say 100 pips. Does it mean that trading a discretionary system has no rules? This is absolutely incorrect. Trading discretionary systems means that once a trader finds his/her setup, the trader then decides what to do. But every trader still needs certain rules that need to be followed, such as the size of the position, conditions that have to be met before thinking to get in the market, and so on. I am a discretionary trader. The main reason I chose a discretionary system is that my trades are based on price behavior, and as you already know, the price behaves similar to the past, but it is never identical, therefore the outcome of every trade is unknown. However, I do have rigid rules on my system, certain conditions have to be met before I even think in getting in a trade. This keeps me out of trouble, once my setup is present and in accordance with the rules I have set, then I closely watch the price behavior and finally decide whether it is a good opportunity or not. Whether you choose to be a discretionary or a mechanical trader there are some important points you should take in consideration: 1. You need to make sure the Forex trading system you are using totally fits your personality. Otherwise you will find yourself outguessing your system. 2. You also need to have some rules and most importantly have the discipline to follow them. 3. Take your time to build the perfect system for you. It’s not easy and requires time and hard work, but at the end, if done correctly, it will give you consistent profitable results. 4. Before going live, try it on a demo account or even on a small account (I will go for the second optionPsychology Articles, since psychological barriers will be present.)
How The Press Changes Forex
The actual global markets are interconnected and depend significantly on the monetary and macroeconomic data. The Forex marketplace is not very. Currency rates — the basic devices from the foreign exchange marketplace or are influenced by the by major monetary news, basic record reviews and essential geopolitical occasions. But absolutely nothing even compares to viewing the actual effects of the news about the Forex marketplace. Right here you will find 3 major samples of this kind of influence.
Financial Measures
This kind of news as financial policy choices by the major central banking institutions have an instant effect on the currency sets. When the rate of interest is changed too fast or too slow, or even an unexpected comment is created concerning the future rate of interest changes, the currency pairs
rally or fall with a speed of sunshine. Once the Federal Open Marketplace Committee (FOMC) of the You.Utes. Federal Reserve announced it's first rate cut through 5.25% to 4.75% on September 18th, 2007, after a lengthy series of the speed hikes, it pushed EUR/USD up. On the EUR/USD hourly graph below you can see a jump in the speed since the dollar dropped a part of its appeal using the lower rate of interest and also the dinar sophisticated.
Macroeconomic Produces
Another important kind of Forex information which has a strong and immediate impact about the rate of exchange may be the macroeconomic produces and reports. One of the most apparent effect belongs to the U.S. regular Gdp information releases. When the reported regular alter varies in the anticipated worth or is merely considerably above/below the prior one fourth, currency market trading react with unknown variances. When the Bureau associated with Economic Evaluation (You.Utes. Division of Commerce) released its progress Gdp report with regard to Q2 08 upon July 15th, 08, a sharp spike made an appearance on all dollar-related pairs. The reported alter was one.9%, which was below the expected 2.3% worth.
Geopolitical Events
A few worldwide geopolitical events have a considerable influence on the Forex market. Wars, political scams, elections, peace treaties, nuclear explosive device tests as well as terrorist episodes usually outcome in a lot associated with outcomes and anticipation concerning individuals outcomes. And the rate of exchange react to such events using the fluctuations that end up in termination from the aged trends as well as establishing of the new long-term developments. September 11th attacks on the united states would be a major global occasion which was followed by unparalleled geopolitical consequences or battle in Afghanistan as well as Iraq, higher investing on You.S. war spending budget and a higher You.Utes. fiscal debt. It may be observed about the EUR/USD monthly graph below how the September had been among the pivotal points within pattern reversal from the bearish someone to a bullish 1.
While you observe, the effect of the information on the Forex marketplace can’t end up being ignored. Whether you industry intraday or long-termFree Reprint Articles, your own currency positions is going to be suffering from the Forex news. That’s the reason why it is essential for the actual currency dealers to evaluate all the associated news making the market choices in relation to them.

Forex trading style comprises of a set of formalized rules, which directs the process of your trading. Without a pre-designed trading style, your trading is like a ship without a destination. A fully formulated forex trading style turns your trade into a profitable business.
In general, forex trading styles are based on two main fields of studies: technical analysis and fundamental analysis. You must know the basic differences between these two trading styles as both of them have their own characteristics.
To be a good Forex trader you have to find out the advantages and disadvantages of both these trading styles. From the study and research, you will have to decide which of these two trading styles matches with your method of trading and will help you in maximizing your profit and more importantly, will have some inherent factors of risk management.
When developing your own forex trading style based on some technical analysis, the best will be to develop a hybrid method comprising more than one technical indicator. For example if your forex trading style is based on the Candlesticks, you must watch out for a hammer, doji, head and shoulders pattern, 1-2-3 formation, double top or bottom etc.
Trend lines across the highs in a downtrend or lows in an uptrend prove to be extremely helpful for formulating a full proof trading style. On a forex trading style based on MACD, watch for a difference between the highs and lows of MACD and the price. When there is divergence, watch closely for the right entry point, once price has shifted in the direction of the divergence.
200 EMA is an all time favorite for traders who love to formulate their own tailor made forex trading style. On higher time frames, for example, 1 hour, 4 hour, daily, they take a note whether price is above or below the 200 EMA to decide on their price direction.
Pivot points, which take note of previous support and resistance lines or the Fibonacci, are few other methods of technical analysis which blends trading styles and risk management features within them.
The other style of forex trading, which is based on fundamental analysis involves key economic data, political condition, sudden situation of emergencies, natural calamities etc. So your forex trading style must help you in identifying these conditions when the market responds to them dynamically.
You can search websites for e-books, forums, online newsletters, to have more knowledge of different forex trading styles. In some forums, veteran traders and investors share their trading style, which you can adopt for developing a style of your own. Perform frequent back testing of your forex trading styles. Always pay attention to your win/loss ratios, and bring changes to suite specific conditions. So what are you waiting for? Choose your trading style today and fulfill your dream!

Forex Trading - Using The Right Tools To Avoid Costly Mistakes
Foreign Exchange Trading, also known as Forex, is the world's financial market. Within Forex, currencies are purchased and sold on a regular basis, generally for the purpose of carrying out international transactions.
A perfect example of international transactions with Forex, would be an instance of Canada purchasing items from the United States. Canada would have to purchase USD (United States Dollars) to complete the transactions. They would therefore, essentially buy USD using their own currency called CAD (Canadian Dollar).
Of course, Forex is operating in the same way as the stock market, only brokers can trade on the market. Typically, in each country there is a large bank, these banks are generally known as Forex brokers. Therefore, if you are interested in Forex trading, you will need to choose a broker to handle the transactions for you.
When choosing a broker, you need to determine which brokers are dealing with the Forex trading market. You should also consider the goals you have within the market. For example, in some instances it may be suitable to use a local banker for the transactions.
However, if you are interested in the market, on a more serious level such as converting global Forex receipts, intentions of profiting from the market, or hedging the risks, you may want to consider opting for a specialized Forex broker.
When choosing a broker, you should also consider the commissions they earn. You should also base your decision on the amount of time it takes the broker to complete your transactions. You should also ensure that the chosen broker has a host of financial tools at their disposal for use in Forex trading. Some examples of such tools include instruments for Forex currency options, futures, and forward contracts.
When it comes to tools and your Forex broker, you will want to ensure that the broker has the extensive knowledge on how to use these tools. For example, with it comes to forward contracts, this is typically offered only through banking institutions.
Your broker should also understand when they should implement these tools. As in the forward contracts, they should know that forward Forex trading should only be implemented when the date of the transaction and the specific number of transactions should be implemented.
Overall, it is important to deal only with a Forex broker that has the experience, knowledge, and expertise that is required when dealing with Forex trading. When entering into the world of Forex trading, you should also have the knowledge needed, you do not want to rely on the hopes that your broker can offer you the advice needed on all transactions.
Summary:
Forex trading actually means Foreign Exchange Trading. A country needs Forex for carrying out internal transactions. You can earn money by investing in the forex trading market, just like you can do at the stock exchange; if you are have the required knowledge.

Forex Trading - The Basics
Is forex trading for you? Well, the fairest way to answer that is by explaining the basics of foreign exchange trading to you.
First things first, the Forex is a market on which the currency of one country is "compared" to the currency of another country in order to determine a value. This value is what you will be trading.
The forex, or foreign exchange market is open and availalbe for trading 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. This gives the currency trading markets a distinct advantage over all other financial markets available to investors.
Also, the size of the forex absolutely dwarfs all other financial markets combined. This massive size creates unique advantages over all other trading tools.
According to most forex brokers, all stop orders (with few exceptions) will be filled at their enetered price. In trading terms this means no slippage. I can't even begin to put a value on this feature.
Due to this quality you can have orders filled of up to $20 million of currency at the market price. Again, an almost unnatural feature when compared to other trading markets.
A more advanced feature is the ability to sell short with no regulations. Ok, technically you are never selling currency short, but I won't get into that in this article.
What this means is that, if at any time you believe the value of a currency is going to decrease, you will be able to take act on your hunch without delay.
Another one of a kind characteristic of the forex market is it's amazingly accurate technical analysis. Like all other financial trading tools, the forex market has all of its' "stocks charted". This is no big surprise, or advantage.
However, unlike other tools, all points on a chart in the forex are based on the bid price. So, Eddie, why does this matter to me? Because this means that the spread is not factored into the chart price. This leads to a much more accurate and readable chart.
In fact, the spread is constant on all forex currency pairs. Some have spreads as low as 2 pips and others as high as 10 or even more. However, they remain constatn with almost all forex brokers and forex banks. This is yet another reason to look at the forex markets.
In my incredibly humble opinion, there is no market that provides the opportunity and benefits like the foreign exchange. The forex has been traded by banks and financial institutions for decades. Now, you, as an individual can climb into the ring and take your shots.
Ok, hopefully this gives you some sort of direction of whether or not forex trading is right for you.
Stay tuned, there will be much more info to come in the near future.

Forex Trading System - How To Choose The Perfect One
Trading in the stock market is extremely intense at times. Within minutes, you could triple your money or loose it all. Forex trading is the best type of trading that has been developed because you can trade on your own time whether it is in the middle of the night or the middle of the day.
When you first decide to take the risk and trade in Forex, you need to take it slow and start out small until you get the hang of trading. Do not jump in until you know what your are doing. It is possible to lose everything you have worked for.
If you are a new at trading it is important to remember that forex trading is definitely not like traditional trading. Forex trading is made up of telephone lines and computers all over the world; conducted through international banks. There is not a central office to walk into.
The international banks process every transaction whether it is for a large company or an individual person. They process the transaction with professional courtesy. These banks are so professional, that their accuracy of these banks has never been questioned.
When a trader becomes active in the forex market it is because of the great benefits that it offers; the biggest being liquidity. A forex account can be closed within twenty-four hours with no questions asked.
The volume of trading that occurs everyday in forex trading is astounding. There can be no comparison to any other markets. Another reason that people choose forex trading is that unlike the stock market, the forex market does not close. It is running twenty-four seven, unlike your broker who needs to close at 6pm sharp. And stay closed all weekend.
Unlike many of the other markets, the forex market is more liquid. This feature allows your broker to stop automatically, giving the trader the time that he or she needs to decide how much risk he or she is willing to take, or if they will pass.
The biggest advantage of forex trading is that the trader is able to do it online. The advantage is that you do not need a broker, which can reduce or eliminate any transaction fees.
When you trade online and eliminate the broker, you cannot claim there was a misunderstanding if you do not like the outcome of a trade. You get an immediate confirmation
It is important that you understand that forex trading comes with a lot of risks. You cannot expect to sit back and watch your money multiply. It is hands on trading and you need to be aware at all times. This can make it tough when you have to sleep.

Tips For Profitable FOREX Trading
Thursday, August 5, 2010
FOREX trading appeals to many traders for several reasons other than its potential for profitable trading:
1. FOREX trading offers a 24-hour market so that any trader can take advantage of profitable market conditions at any time.
2. The FOREX market is the most liquid market in the world so that traders can enter or exit the market whenever they want with minimal execution barriers or risk and no daily trading limit.
3. The FOREX market is always a good market. FOREX trading involves selling or buying one currency against another. In essence, a bull market or a bear market for a currency is defined in terms of the outlook for value against other currencies. If the outlook is positive, you get a bull market where a trader profits by buying the currency against other currencies.
4. The FOREX market is so large and has so many participants that no single trader, even a central bank, can control the market price for an extended period of time.
To be successful in FOREX trading you need experience, capital and a solid trading system. Keeping things simple can also help you better focus on your trading. Here are some tips that can help you during FOREX trading:
1. The first and last ticks are always the most expensive. Get in late and out early.
2. Never add money when you are losing.
3. When everyone else is in, then it is time for you to get out.
4. Always determine a stop and a profit objective before you enter a trade. Place stops that are based on market information, and not your account balance.
5. It is always easier to enter a losing trade.
6. News is only important when the market doesn't react in the direction of the news.
7. In a bull market, you never want to sell a dull market, in a bear market, you should certainly never buy a dull market.
8. There are times, due to a lack of liquidity, or excessive volatility, when you should not trade at all.
9. It helps to read yesterday's paper each day to learn from what the market did.
10. There are at least three types of markets such as up trending, range bound, and down trading, and you should have a different trading strategy for each.
11. Up market and down market patterns are always there, with one always been more dominant. Select trades that move along with the trend.

Success On Forex With Forex Trading Strategies
To become involved in the wonderful and sometimes addictive world of Forex, you will need to have a strategy in place to succeed. There are many forex trading strategies that will help you to push forward in the game, it is just a matter of going out there and finding one that works for you.
To begin with, it is wise to consult with the experts about various forex trading strategies that might help you understand the Forex trading system a bit better. You can find many online forums that will help and you can take part in seminars where highly experienced instructors will explain the whole system and various strategies in detail. You might even be able to practice some of the forex trading strategies with a demo account.
You must also understand the forex charts in order to gain information about certain trends. This is probably one of the most important factors in forex trading strategies. Once you understand the way trends are moving and changing, and you are able to recognize and predict the patterns within these charts, you are well on your way to begin trading with success on the Forex.
Some strategies are very technical and require practice and understanding initially. At least at first, do not think that the forex is a way to get rich quickly. Initially, quick riches may not be possible as the exchange rate fluctuations will be slight, and it will take time for you to get the hang of it and make profits. Also be prepared, because you cannot win all of the time. Hopefully by using some of the online forex strategies you will win more often than not.
One of the forex trading strategies that you can start with is to learn which markets or trends to target. After learning a little bit more about the forex, you should be able to choose a market or trend that is more likely to be profitable. Be careful not to put all of your cash into one trend though, as this could backfire. Rather put smaller, more logical amounts of money into different trends so that you have a better chance of at least some of your investments profiting.
If you have any doubts at all about the forex trading strategies and trading on a specific trend then listen to your instincts. You should feel 100 percent comfortable with everything that you are trading on and not have any hesitations at all. If you don't feel comfortable, then make sure you learn as much as you can before you begin trading. Information is king, and the more you know the higher your earning potential.

The Forex Trading System
The Forex trading system was first created in the 1970's. The word means "foreign exchange market" where the different currencies of the world are freely bought and sold on the market. Global Forex Trading is leading the world in real-time currency trading software. This company also takes part in dealing and comprehensive services for retail and institutional foreign exchange traders. It prides itself on providing people with the highest standard of service. This is evident when the president of the company, Gary L. Tilkin, was named National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year? 2004 Awards Finalist
People all over the world are using this mode of currency trading. The Forex trading system services more than 1o0 countries all over the world. It is the largest liquid fluid market aaand the amount of money traded in this way amounts to almost 1.5 trillion U.S. dollars every day. The transactions take place through telecommunications 24 hours a day, every day. Dealers operate in every time zone for the purpose of quoting currencies.
Forex trading is an objective market. If those who participate in this market would like to change prices, they work with billions of dollars. Single participants cannot exert any influence on the market. Traders have the flexibility of opening and closing positions whenever they want and for however long they want. There are no rules as to how long one has to keep a certain position. The amount of profit a trader can make can be impressive if he/she takes advantage of the credit lines available to currency speculators.
In Forex trading, speculative interests are possible without having a supply of real money. Therefore the costs of overhead are less and people can trade with a small amount of money. Transactions can be completed very quickly because the fluctuating exchange rates can net one a huge profit if they sell or buy at the right time. You can trade with this system with borrowed money. This is called "Marginal trading". One lot equals up to $100,000. but you do not need to have all of that amount. Having 0.5% of the total allows you to become an international trader on the money market.

Forex market offers opportunity and information
The forex market is what is called an international exchange currency market, where currencies are exchanged on a daily basis. There are five forex market centers around the world - New York, London, Tokyo, Frankfurt and Zurich. One does not need to be on the trading floor, so to speak to be involved in the forex market. Today, forex trading can be done from home on a computer.
The forex market itself is basically a worldwide connection of traders, who make investment moves based on the price of currencies, or their values relative to other currencies. These traders constantly negotiate prices with other traders resulting in the fluctuation or movement of a currency's value. The value of a currency on the forex market also corresponds with supply. If there is greater demand for the Euro, let's say, then there will be less supply of it on the forex market, which means, in time, it will make a Euro more valuable compared to let's say the dollar. In short, in this forex market situation, one Euro would yield more dollars, subsequently weakening the dollar as well. Analyzing the forex market's fluctuations allows investors to make predictions on how a currency will move in relation to another currency. They then can make predictions and buy and sell currency accordingly.
While some people view the forex market as a place to see what their exchange rate will be when they travel abroad, others view it as an opportunity to make great gains in their financial planning and future.
Forex trading can be like day-trading
Forex trading, or foreign currency trading, has become a bit of a craze of late, especially since it is something available to anyone who owns a computer. And anyone who is willing to put in some training time can profit from forex trading.
The forex market finds traders from all around the globe monitoring currency fluctuations, not unlike the way a day trader may monitor a stock's fluctuation on the Dow Jones.
In forex trading, a trader will pair two types of currency, for example the U.S. dollar and the British pound. As it requires more of one currency to purchase another, that currency loses value. Not unlike, stock trading, forex traders try to accumulate currency when it weakens in hopes of selling it when it goes up in value. Forex trading is not unlike the buy low, sell high approach found in stock trading.
The way a trader on the forex market exchange goes about acquiring currency is by giving a bid/ask quote, saying he is willing to buy, for example 1.6 marks per dollar and sell them at 1.625 per dollar. One must be a market trader to have access to this process. So most people who are forex trading on line buy the currency through a bank, where they'll pay a commission, then have to figure the commission paid to the bank into the calculation of their spread, or profit margin, when they sell it.
Forex trading is not an easy path to riches. And some people have lost considerable money in miscalculating the market. With its increased popularity, on some days the forex market exchange can see more than one trillion dollars exchanged. Packages for teaching a new forex trader how to invest in the market can range in price.

FOREX BROKER

Price Action Around News Release
The moment of news release might experience the most volatility through the trading session. It can spike either way with hundreds of pips in just a couple of minutes.
The common understanding of news affects on a currency is that if the actual number is better than expected, the positive affect is good for the currency, while worse than expected release is bad for the currency.
This is far from the truth in the real trading world. It’s not uncommon to see a good number with a weak dollar, or a bad number with a strong dollar. Naively interpreting news number has been proven very expensive in forex news trading. It is unlikely that the true direction of the currency can be predicted just by the use of news release.
Best Forex News Trading Strategies
Forex news trading is not a “who wants to be a millionaire” fast finger game. Straddle the news or trade with the news number can be easily fooled by the market with stops been hit both ways or utterly wrong with the direction decision. The best strategies for forex news trading needs patience to wait till the frenzy fluctuation cools down, let the market shakes out weak hands, and participate the high probability low risk entry at exact the right time and right spot.
Last Friday (08/07/2009) was a perfect example of exercising this best forex news trading strategies. The unemployment rate (NFP) is better than expected, which suppose to signal strong dollar. But the initial market reaction of EURUSD is a sharp rise of the rate. After the mechanic news number trader had been stopped out, EURUSD made a nose dive and didn’t look back during the rest of New York session. It might be the worst thing to forex traders in currency trading – finding the right direction of the trend, while still losing money.
While there is substantial risk associated with forex news trading, it can become a powerful weapon for your trading arsenal using wisely. Experience of how market reacts to news release is needed to trade forex news effectively and profitably.

Currencies Update: Seeking refuge 2 August 2010
Friday night’s international session saw a bigger-than-expected slowdown in US 2Q economic growth, which sent global stocks lower and drove up the value of the yen against the US dollar.
The higher-risk currency, the euro, fell against the US dollar and the yen, considered to be “safety currencies”.
However, other risk currencies gained alongside the late rally in US stocks, with the positive sentiment sending the Australian dollar up by 0.1% to 78.20 yen and by 0.4% to 90.43 US cents.

Forex - UK Ratings Back in the Spotlight
Sunday, August 1, 2010

Markets continue to trade at their unhurried summer pace with no signs that we’ll encounter any directional momentum today. The highlight of yesterday’s trading day was the BoE MPC Posen addressing comments advanced by S&P regarding the UK’s cherished AAA sovereign rating. S&P asserted that UK debt levels were approaching levels incompatible with their AAA rating. Posen later addressed fears that the UK could fall back into economic recession and further warned that recent austerity measures across the EU could weigh on the UK’s fragile recovery.
Should the UK government fail to develop a concrete strategy, the nation’s risk-free rating could be in jeopardy – something we’ve seen quite a bit of in the EU. As can be expected, the GBP has come under noticeable selling pressure. Sterling continues to struggle with the market’s shifting views on the inflationary path set by the BoE holding rates low and steady for an extended period of time. The ill-timed comments by S&P just exacerbated GBP selling mostly due to apprehension already present in the marketplace.
In the near term, we expect GBPUSD to be sold on any rallies as MPC members fail to follow Sentence’s call to raise rates and the fact that sovereign debt fears will likely cloud any positive developments.
In the Eurozone, recent ECB data demonstrated that the central bank only purchased €1 billion worth of Eurozone bonds as part of its Securities Market program. The figure represents a significant deceleration in bond intervention and potentially signals a quazi-return to normalcy. Portugal was downgraded today by Moody’s to the A1 level with a “stable” outlook for the future.
Fitches holds Portugal 1 notch above A1 while the S&P relegates the small nation 2 levels below. While the “stable” outlook should calm markets, the initial knee-jerk reaction sent the EURUSD down 25 points. Portugal’s growth is likely to remain weak until structural reforms are implemented and effective.
Lastly, Greece is due to auction off €1.25bn of its own debt today on the open market. Should the rate close below 5%, this would be a positive sign of returning investor confidence and broadly Euro positive.

Forex - Greece Auction & US Earning Support Risk Sentiment

Yesterday, the Euro was able to shrug-off Moody’s downgrade of Portugal with the buttress of a well-received Greek debt auction – the positive move was even further resistant to yesterday’s positive run in US equity earnings. As a result, EURUSD climbed quickly and was able to break the 1.2700 threshold. Nevertheless, we are not convinced that this rally has any real legs, as liquidity has been poor and leveraged buyers seem to be the core participants driving the EURUSD higher. We suspect the thaw in investor concern will not be as quick or smooth as many talking-heads posit. We do anticipate a sudden reversal in risk appetite but suspect the catalyst will likely be an inconsequential figure such as the underperformance of a bank’s earnings or some other, otherwise minor event.
In Asia, regional indexes grabbed onto the positive sentiment and charged higher with the Nikkei up 2.71%, aided by Intel's earnings and Singapore's strong GDP growth. The BoJ’s two-day policy meeting began today with analysts universally expecting the central bank to hold rates steady. We are still interested to see if the BoJ will release details pertaining to its stated desire to see bolstered lending from banks to the broader economy. The Yen continues to be influenced by the finicky nature of global risk appetite – yet should rating agencies shift their focus onto Japanese fiscal imbalances, we could see JPY strength quickly unwind. It’s our core belief that the sovereign rate crisis radar will eventually target Japan in the mid-term. Mid-to-long term, we are looking for opportunities to the sell the JPY.
In the United Kingdom, the BoE’s MPC Sentance continues to rattle his inflationary saber. Today in an interview with the Reading Post, he stressed and affirmed that “a gradual withdrawal of some of the stimulus" is necessary for future UK economic health. Market participants are re-evaluating whether or not there is some merit to the lone dissenter’s arguments as English CPI came in higher-than-expected at 3.2%.
Today’s key events are US retail sales and the release of the FOMC minutes. For retail sales, we suspect that the data will disappoint to the downside as fiscal stimulus wears thin and US labor markets fail to convincingly recover in the right places. The minutes should contain some fresh Fed forecasts for the US/global economy. Given the adjustment in recent statements, we believe that the Fed will lower 2010 growth expectations and give recognition to the elevated and resistant unemployment rate. Both events would be significantly negative for risk-correlated trades – something which just could be the EURUSD catalyst we’re looking for (and if not we always have China's data tomorrow, including CPI).

Forex - RBNZ Sounds Dovish But Risk Taking Remains

Markets are trading in a lethargic manner as participants continue to nervously take on risk-correlated trades. The move toward risk is logical because without the massive sovereign crisis fear hovering over the market like the Sword of Damocles, one needs to consider the fundamentals - particularly monetary policy, as the core driver. Overall, the rate at which central banks are mopping up excess liquidity has been slower-than-expected with the BoE and Fed still discussing the potential for further QE.
In this era of ultra-low policy rates, risk taking will be encouraged. In the past few days, we’ve seen Eurozone sovereign spreads narrow considerably, the VIX index is trending lower along with decreased FX volatilities and global equity markets have demonstrated a resilience to bearish news. If corporate earnings come out strong, this could be the start of a summer rally, however we’re not so sure. Our view is that the fears surrounding sovereign risk may have subsided for the time being, but will most likely return this fall.
Even with the recent stint of positive news, foreboding signs are on the horizon. The Fed’s Beige book released yesterday reported that the US recovery remained on track but has begun to actively slow. The notion of a US slowdown was reinforced by recent US data, including yesterday’s durable goods figures.
In New Zealand, the RBNZ raised its policy rate 25 bps to 3.00% as we had predicted and the accompanying statement asserted that future growth prospects had deteriorated considerably. Traders rapidly paired down their interest rate expectations which in turn weighed on the NZD.
Governor King’s comment seemed to slam into the sterling market, which was curious because his remarks were really nothing new or original. He recommended caution over reading too much into the strong Q2 GDP figures and reaffirmed that inflation remained finely in check. Paul Fisher stated that the global outlook had weakened and David Miles resonated with the most dovish view of all – that inflation would taper off and the current ultra-loose policy was correct.
The combination of all these comments hit the GBP value like a sledge hammer. It wasn’t until Sentance’s hawkish comments that the “current policy setting was extreme” that some sanity was regained in the FX market.
We are convinced that the market is now underestimating the strength of the UK recovery and that the current downtrend in inflation will flat line and then begin to move higher. The BoE interest rate path should give GBP a boost in the mid-term.
Otherwise, there’s a frenzy of data to be released during the European session today and after that it’s onto corporate earnings. We will continue to use equity market activity as a compass for FX directions. Correlation remains particularly high between the EURUSD and S&P and should thus be traded accordingly.

Forex - Fed Comments Cause a Disproportional Stir in USD

FX markets continue with their choppy, noncommittal trading pattern. But as investors concerns ease and EU spreads tighten significantly, markets are leaning towards selling USD (interestingly not case with other safe-have FX trades like JPY and CHF) and buying of risky assets. But given that summer trading pattern is in full effect, we are seeing a variety of small time news events having a distortional effect on prices. Case in point, St Louis Fed President Bullard's comments that linked the US inflation path with that of "a Japanese-style deflationary outcome within the next several years," advocating the possible need for the expansion of Treasury purchases. Given the Fed presidents more hawkish reputation, “the north pole of inflation hawks,” he was once quoted saying, (and lack of news flow) the market jumped on the statement. However, this deflationary argument has been well vetted and is currently the flavor of the month, so its not truly original. In addition, he goes on to say that no further easing will be needed and the fed is prepared to fight a negative shift in price pressures. Less covered was Dallas Fed President Fisher comments that he believed that deflation was only a tail risk and that further monetary policy easing would be not be required. When asked it the Fed would partake in monetizing the US huge fiscal debt he stated, "We know what happens when central banks give in to those requests - it leads us down the slippery slope of debasing our currency and puts us on the path of hyperinflation and economic destruction." But in actuality none of these comments and ideas should be surprising to participants, and the market shouldn’t try too hard to dissect subtle divergence in opinions (especially in Fishers case to a group of Texans). The Fed is clearly cautious and uncertain over growth (highlighted in recent economic data and beige book) and the lack of confidence will come out in statements. While the USD will react, we suspect that the FX effect will be short lived and that there will be opportunities to trade against the tide.
In our mind, yesterdays CHF trading pattern is one to watch. Starting in the European session, markets were buzzing with reports that the SNB was unwinding part of their massive reserve. And combined with the announcement that the Swiss central bank would begin to mop up excess liquidity, it has raised the probability of a near term policy shift. We believe the CHF will be a triple threat, with gains from widening interest rate differentials (suspect an early fall hike), reserve selling and health fundamentals, all giving the CHF a lift. Watch for the EURCHF to trend lower.
In Japan , a steady stream of direct comments at the JPY resurgence hit the wires. FM Noda stepped into the fray stating that he’s watching FX moves carefully (a Yen boilerplate statement) while Vice-FM Ikeda later followed up to say: "I will not comment on levels but generally speaking, I'm worried about the impact it may have on Japanese exporters, which have been a driving force (for the economy)." Headline Japanese CPI fell to -0.7% vs. -0.9% prior for the 17th consecutive month (although at a slower pace) and Industrial Production also slumped. We suspect that policy makers will overlook the slight shift in pace of decline and will still look towards monetary policy easing, as an viable escape mechanism. That said we are strong buyers of EURJPY and USDJPY at these levels, as we suspect that Japanese policy makers will proved a backstop.
As for today the US GDP will be the highlight of the day. As with deflation, “Double Dip” predictions are back in fashion and a weak number (supported by soft economic reading recently) will only exacerbate the theory and kill the USD.

It was not so long ago when only the big boys had access to this investment called forex trading. There was a time when only the banks and big financial institutions were able to do forex trading. This was so because of the restrictively huge amount of capital that was required to be able to trade currencies. Retail investors would just have to be contented with investing in mutual funds which included forex trading in their portfolio. That is if they even knew of forex as an investment. Trading currencies was not really popular then. When you mention foreign exchange, most people equated it with just physically exchanging currencies usually for the purposes of traveling abroad of paying up for some foreign-sourced goods.
And even if an individual could come up with the necessary capital to trade forex back then, there were still a lot of disadvantages that he would need to overcome. First and foremost among them would be access to information. During a time when internet was not yet the common necessity that it is now, information with regard to the financial markets was a rare commodity. One would have to pay for subscription services from information service providers to be able to get the latest relevant financial news and up-to-the-minute currency quotes. Although information could already travel at the speed of thought, as they say, it still usually came at a price.
Then came the internet. The problem of information being too expensive was suddenly not a problem anymore. Anyone who had a PC with internet access at home could readily access all the relevant information from the web. Suddenly, the big banks and financial institutions who were the only ones who could readily access these information did not enjoy that huge advantage anymore. Also with the internet came the ease of access to the forex brokers. One does not have to physically visit the offices of the forex brokers anymore just to be able to open a forex account. And with the magic of electronic money and electronic banking, even the funding of these account became as easy as clicking the mouse.
And with the market suddenly growing to include the retail forex investors, a lot of brokers suddenly started opening shop, adding fuel to the growth of the lucrative business that is forex. With a lot of forex brokers competing for the investments of the retail individuals, they started lowering the necessary capital to be able to open a forex account. Then the brokers even started introducing mini accounts and even micro accounts for investors who want to try out forex with minimal amount of capital.
The convenience that the internet provided brought about the popularity of forex trading as an investment. Although other investment options like stock trading also gained more popularity with the coming of the internet, forex trading still had some distinct advantages over these other investment options. Factors like the 24-hours-a-day trading in the extremely liquid forex markets all over the world, and the ability to short-sell made it a more popular choice for savvy investors. Aggressive investors especially liked the immediate returns that forex trading brought to their accounts. And the possibility of high returns was usually the common goal among forex investors which actually became possible due to the leverage factor. With forex trading, an investor would be able to control money of up to 400 times his actual investment. Although this certainly can help anyone who target sky-rocketing returns, it also became a double-edged sword, as most investors would later on realize. Although it is often said that 90% of all retail forex investors lose their money within the first three months after making their first forex trade, this did not stop the popularity of forex trading as a very lucrative investment option.
With the recent turmoil in the financial markets, and with some investment houses scamming its investors when it promised to protect their money and do their best to make it grow, some people are now trying out other investment options. And this may actually be another factor to contribute to the still-rising popularity of forex investments.Forex Trading’s Popularity
